Cumann Cispheile Mhaigh Cuilinn is pleased to announce that, following the Cruinni\u00fa Ginear\u00e1lta Urghn\u00e1ch on Monday 3 October, the club has elected to formally change its name from Moycullen Basketball Club to Cumann Cispheile Mhaigh Cuilinn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This does not mean, by any stretch, that people need Irish to participate in our club and we welcome members new and old, from all corners of the globe with Irish, English or neither! Basketball is our first language! We are however, proud to be the the first club from the Gaeltacht to reach the top tier of Irish basketball, having entered the Men’s Superleague in 2010, in which we still compete (fixtures available here<\/a>).

The Irish language is an important part of our club’s past present and future and we believe the change of name, to what is after all the village’s official name, is the right thing to do as we look to play our part, alongside the many other tremendous clubs in the locality, to help keep the Irish language vibrant in the community…..at all levels of fluency from a c\u00fapla focal to liofa.
