Volunteers Needed (Development and Inclusion)

Interested in meeting new people and volunteering some time but don't have a basketball background? These roles are perfect!

As we look forward to another great season of basketball, we are hoping to find a few new bodies to assist with some roles within the club.

The Development and Inclusion Officer roles in the club are perfect for someone who wants to make a difference in Maigh Cuilinn by fostering inclusivity and creating multiple pathways to involvement within sport. Basketball know-how is definitely not a prerequisite! 

You’ll engage with the community, meet new people, and play a vital role in enhancing the local basketball and sporting scene. You will also get a chance to be at the heart of one of the most vibrant basketball clubs in the country.

We are looking for people who have an interest in:-

  1. Non-Playing Roles Development:
    • Encouraging members into non-playing and non-coaching roles such as referees, table officials, statisticians, and administrators.
    • Helping arrange information / training / certification pathways for non-playing/coaching roles.
    • Promoting non-playing opportunities within the club.
      • Assising in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.
        • Helping establish recognition programs to retain volunteers in non-playing and coaching roles.
  2. Inclusion and Diversity:
    • Develop and promote initiatives that ensure the club is accessible and welcoming to individuals with special needs and from diverse backgrounds
    • Managw the club’s inclusion and diversity policies.
