Down to just five players ,and finishing one game with just three, the injury ravaged Maigh Cuilinn U18 boys (or what was left of them) put in a heroic display at the 2023 U18 National Cup weekend.
While it would have been easy to simply throw in the towel, Maigh Cuilinn showed amazing heart to come within a whisker of advancing to the knockout stages.
They lost a narrow affair versus Malahide of Dublin in the opener (48 v 59) before getting a comfortable win against St Brendan’s of Tralee which left them facing a do or die match against Labanga of Cork without having had the advantage of any subs for the entire day!
The lads fought valiantly but lost 72 to 83 in the end.
Well done to the boys on putting in such a strong effort against all the odds!
