U18 National Cup 2021/2022
Basketball Ireland informed all clubs on 1 November 2021 that the U18 National Cup was being postponed to a likely January 2022 start date due to Covid restrictions.
Moycullen’s U18 Boys had been scheduled to get their National Cup campaign underway on 6 November with a trip to Gormanston, County Meath for the opening group stages. Moycullen has been drawn in Pool 2a of the competition against Ongar Chasers (Dublin), Phoenix BC (Belfast), and Annaghdown (Galway).
Suppose Moycullen can finish in the top 2 of what promises to be a tough pool. In that case, they cross over with Pool 2b containing Fr Mathews (Cork), St Brendan’s (Tralee), St Pauls (Killarney), and Ulster University Tigers (Belfast) for a chance to advance to the knockout rounds.
Moycullen last won the U18 National Cup in 2019.
